The assessment of the depth of burn wounds is divided into 3 levels

  • First degree burn
  • Second degree burn
  • Third degree burn

First degree burn

Burns are limited to the epidermis only. The wound will be red, but there will be no blisters. The patient will feel pain or burning. This type of wound requires about 7 days to heal without leaving a scar, except if there is an infection. Common cases include sunburn, such as patients who have been to the beach and have sunburn, exposure to hot water, boiling steam, or objects that are hot and do not last long. Treatment can be done by applying a topical medicated cream or covering with various appropriate wound closure products.

Second degree burns are divided into two types.

Superficial wounds are burns that occur on the entire epidermis layer, including the outer layer, the innermost layer, and the dermis. The superficial part (under the epidermis) still has cells that can replace the dead parts. Therefore, it heals quickly and does not form scars, except if there is an infection. In this case, it is usually caused by being scalded by liquids or being burned by flames. The overall wound will have clear blisters. If the blisters are peeled off, the wound surface will be pink, moist, and oozing lymph. The patient will feel a lot of pain because the nerves in the skin are still left. The wound will heal in about 2-3 weeks to prevent scarring. Treatment can be done by applying a medicated cream to the wound externally or by covering it with various appropriate wound closure products.

Deep wounds are burns in the deep dermis. The appearance of the wound is opposite to that of superficial wounds; there are rarely เล่น UFABET ผ่านมือถือ สะดวกทุกที่ ทุกเวลา any blistering, the wound is yellowish-white, dry, and not very painful. This type of wound has a chance of scarring, but not much, if there is no re-infection. The wound usually heals within 3-6 weeks. Treatment with topical antibiotics will help prevent infection.

Third degree burns

Are deep enough to destroy the entire epidermis and dermis, including sweat glands, hair follicles, and nerve cells. Patients usually do not feel pain at the wound. It may deep into the muscle or bone layer. The wound will appear white, pale, yellow, burnt brown, or black, thick and hard like a sheet of leather, dry, and rough. Blood vessels may be visible under the thick layer. Since the nerves in the dermis have been completely destroyed, this wound will not feel pain. This type of wound will not heal on its own and requires skin grafting. In addition, the wound will pull, causing the joint to become stiff. When healed, it will become a scar. Some people will have raised scars. This is often caused by a fire or prolonged exposure to heat, or electric shock. This is considered a serious wound.

Treatment of burns and scalds

When injured, the wound should be cleaned with clean water at room temperature. You may use mild soap to wash away dirt first and then wash with clean water. Then use a clean cloth to cover the wound and see a doctor. Currently, the treatment of burns and scalds has progressed greatly. There are many new, high-quality wound dressing materials.

Choosing the right dressing material and closely supervising the doctor will help the wound heal faster, greatly reducing the suffering of the patient from burns and scalds, and reducing scarring. Therefore, if there is a burn or scald, the patient should receive proper treatment from a doctor as soon as possible.

This matter needs to be expanded.

Do not use foreign objects on the wound, such as toothpaste, egg white, or oil, to cover or put on the wound, as this will make it difficult to clean, leading to subsequent infection.
